Mike Alerding a specialist in the rebuilding of gear reducers works on a reducer from a local waste water treatment plant. We replace the worn gears, bearings, and seals. The gear reducer is assembled using factory specifications to set the backlash of the gears.
Don Huyvaert (left), our Winding Dept. Foreman with 26 years experience and Dennis Palmer, also a leaderman with 22 years experience. We rewind A/C single phase and three phase motors using high temperature class H wire and insulation. All of the high efficient motors and inverter duty motors are wound with spike resistant wire. We also rewind stators that require form wound coils. The stator core of each motor is tested for shorted laminations before the rewind is started. The old winding material is removed using a controlled burn out oven. The stator core is then tested for shorted laminations using a core loss tester before the rewind is started. We surge test all of our rewound stators with a Baker Surge tester before the windings are coated with a moisture and acid resisting varnish. Our D/C motor rewinding includes the repair or repalcement of the commutator. D/C armatures are also would with class H high temperature wire and insulation along with form wound coils when required.

Kevin Dosmann is a fourth year apprentice with the IBEW Local 1392. Kevin is using our hard bearing computerized balancer to dynamically balance a D/C armature. We dynamically balance the shafts of all repaired motors. This process reduces wear on the bearings extending the live of the motor.
